Friends of Bucknall Park

Home About News

The Friends of Bucknall Park group was  established back in May, 2013.

We are acutely aware that since the closure of the City Farm the park has become neglected and visitor numbers have dropped vastly mainly due to the lack of facilities.

Our aims and aspirations are to encourage visitors back into the park, to raise funds to provide improvements for young people, to make the park and its buildings fully accessible to everyone in a safe environment and to restore the abandoned buildings situated within the park.

Our volunteers have worked with enthusiasm and our partnerships have already proven themselves with support from The City Council’s Liaison Officer, Operational Staff, local businesses, members of the Mary Church Centre, as well as our Local Councillors.

Even though we are a park group, we all feel we are part of a very large community supporting the local areas of Bucknall, Townsend and Abbey Hulton as well as our visitors from outside the area.

The group meets on a regular basis, at the Bucknall Methodist Church, Werrington Road.

A warm welcome awaits anyone  who has an interest in Bucknall Park and would like to come along to the meetings.
